Quick answer: LEGO doesn't make World War II guns, so builders use custom weapons designed to fit LEGO® minifigures instead. BrickTactical injection molds WW2 guns compatible with LEGO® minifigures, like the MG42, M1 Garand, Thompson, MP40, STG44 and Luger in ABS plastic, in-house in Washington State, sized to clip straight into any minifigure hand.
I started BrickTactical because of exactly this problem. Back in 2010 I wanted to build a big LEGO Battle of the Bulge, Germans versus Americans in winter gear, and nobody was making the weapons I needed. That project turned into an injection molding shop and, today, hundreds of custom molded parts. In the video below I walk through every WW2 weapon and helmet we make. This guide breaks it all down so you can kit out your army.

Why doesn't LEGO make WW2 guns?
LEGO has a long-standing policy of not producing realistic military weapons or depicting real-world wars. That's why official sets stop at sci-fi blasters and fantasy swords. If you build WW2 dioramas, MOCs or army-builder squads, custom LEGO-compatible guns are the only way to get historically accurate gear.
WW2 German guns for LEGO® minifigures
The MG42 is probably my favorite piece we make. It's a three-part build with a removable drum mag and a removable bipod, so you can set up a gunner prone behind cover. Round out a German squad with the MP40 submachine gun, the STG44 assault rifle, the Luger (also available suppressed) and the classic M24 "potato masher" stick grenade. Top them off with a Stahlhelm, which comes in gunmetal, dark tan and tan for Afrika Korps builds.

WW2 American guns for LEGO® minifigures
For US troops, the M1 Garand is the must-have, molded in reddish brown to match LEGO's own color. Add the M1 Carbine, Thompson SMG, BAR for your squad automatic rifleman, and the M1911 sidearm. Our M1 helmet even has the chin strap molded onto the brim, a detail I haven't seen anyone else do. Olive drab green is the accurate color.

WW2 Japanese and British gear
For the Pacific theater we make the Arisaka bolt-action rifle, the Japanese T90 helmet in tan and dark tan, and a samurai sword with a wrapped WW2-style handle. British troops get the Brodie helmet, which also works for WW1 builds. Heavier German support weapons include the MG34, the tank-mounted MG34 Panzerlauf, and several Panzerfaust sizes. - Made in the USA: designed and molded in-house in Washington State.
- Historically researched: details like the MG42's bipod and the M1 helmet's strap are modeled from the real thing.
- Army-builder friendly: most single weapons are only a couple of dollars, so outfitting a full platoon is affordable.

FAQ
Does LEGO make WW2 guns?
No. LEGO's policy is to avoid realistic modern and historical military weapons, so there are no official LEGO World War II guns. Independent makers like BrickTactical fill that gap with custom weapons molded to fit LEGO® minifigure hands.
Are BrickTactical guns compatible with LEGO® minifigures?
Yes. Every BrickTactical weapon is injection molded in ABS plastic, the same material LEGO uses, and sized for a standard minifigure hand grip, so it clips in snugly like an official accessory.
Where are BrickTactical guns made?
In-house in Washington State, USA. We design, mold and pack every part ourselves instead of outsourcing overseas.
What are the best WW2 German guns for LEGO® minifigures?
Start with the MG42 machine gun (removable drum mag and bipod), MP40 SMG, STG44 rifle, Luger pistol and M24 stick grenade, then top each figure with a Stahlhelm helmet.
What are the best WW2 American guns for LEGO® minifigures?
The M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, Thompson SMG, BAR and M1911 pistol cover a full US rifle squad, paired with the M1 helmet in olive drab green.
